xHP - Licensing


Where can I buy xHP Licenses, and what do I need to buy?

The only place to buy xHP Licenses is from our https://www.xautomotive.com/. Most customers will need the xHP Flash Licence and the xHP Map Pack.


Can I try xHP before I buy?

Downloading xHP is free. You can connect to your car, read your TCU's fault codes, and read your transmission's adaptation values. For any flash operation, you must purchase an https://www.xautomotive.com/products/xhp-flash-license. If you want to flash any of our OTS Maps, you need an https://www.xautomotive.com/products/mappackage for your car from the .


Can I use xHP to revert to stock at any time?

xHP creates a full backup before attempting any flash operation. No action is required on your part. You can flash this backup to your vehicle at any time.


Can I switch between different OTS and custom maps?

You can switch between maps as often as you like. and are “lifetime”, and you can use xHP on as many devices as you like.


Do I need the xHP Flash license and the xHP Map Pack?

The xHP Flash Licence is mandatory to flash your car. With the , you can apply all the Flash Settings to your backup calibration, allowing you to flash our OTS maps. You can use the Flash Licence standalone but not the Map Pack. If you purchase a map pack, you must also purchase a flash license to use the OTS maps.

  • You will need at least the to flash your car and have access to the customization module. With this module, you can modify all maps you have purchased.
    Please refer to the Custom Functions chapter for more information on the Custom Module.

A dealer has flashed my car in the past. Can I change any settings myself with xHP?

Dealers can flash your car but cannot resell end-user products. However, we offer the at a significantly reduced price for cars that dealers have already flashed. These licenses include the & in one go! Please see the Licences section for more information!


I have lost/changed my device. How do I get xHP to work again?

Reinstall xHP and log in with the email account you initially set up xHP with. All your data will be stored on our server and restored when you log in.


What happens to my license if I get a new car or install a new gearbox?

To move an existing xHP license to another of your vehicles or a new transmission, you must follow all of the below steps:

  • Uninstall xHP from the gearbox. The “Uninstall” button is on the right, just above the “Flash settings”.

Simply uninstalling the application from your phone or flashing the 'Stage 0' map is not enough!

  • After successfully uninstalling xHP from the transmission, ensure the xHP application is connected to the internet.

  • Connect the phone to your new car once so both cars appear in the app's vehicle overview and are stored on your device.

  • Please contact us at support@xautomotive.com with your original VIN (and new VIN if you got a new car) so we can verify the successful uninstallation.
    We will then be able to transfer your license from your old VIN to your new VIN or a new transmission, respectively.

Licences are not transferable to other users.

​Licences can only be transferred once from one vehicle to another of the same transmission type (6HP, 8HP & 7DCT) and generation (E-Series, F-Series & G-Series).


My license does not show up, and the voucher codes no longer work!

Please make sure you are trying to log in with the correct account! We have added an account finder at the bottom of the login screen. Enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), and xHP will hint which account has been used for this car.

If you purchased through Google Play in 2017/2018, your license will eventually need to be ported to our new licensing system. Please make sure you download the latest iOS, Android or Windows PC version of xHP, click Login and use the same email to log in that you used to purchase on Google Play.

This method may not work for very early 2017 buyers. If your licenses still do not appear, please contact us at support@xautomotive.com.
