Will xHP work with my specific engine tune?

Yes, in general xHP will work with any engine tune. However, there are some things to consider for optimal performance.

  • MHD - For 6-Speed cars MHD offers a specific custom option for xHP flashed cars. This option will slightly alter torque management and can further improve shifting. On 8-Speed or DCT cars there are no special options inside MHD. All the MHD OTS maps will work fine.

  • BM3 - All BM3 OTS Maps are tested and work fine along with xHP.

  • MGFlasher - All MG Flasher OTS Maps are tested and work fine along with xHP.

My DME tuning-app offers a “TCU Torque Limiter fix”, shall I use that?

This option sets the DME (engine controller) to ignore some or all torque limiting requests from the transmission and is a bandaid to circumvent the stock Torque Limiters stored inside the transmission (TCU). It is not necessary with xHP. Activating such an option has many detrimental effects, such as slow, spongy shifts, circumenventing of safety relevant limitations, shortened transmission life-span, Launch Control not working properly etc. For optimal performance such options must not be activated.

I already have a flash tune (MHD, BM3, MG flasher, custom tune, etc.) on my ECU (engine). Do I have to uninstall it before using xHP?

No. xHP does not directly affect your existing engine tune, and the order in which the engine and transmission tunes are flashed does not matter.

I've got a JB4 installed. Can I flash xHP?

Yes, xHP will work on JB4-equipped cars, but you may need to disable JB4 before starting a flash. In rare cases, JB4 needs to be physically disconnected during the flash operation.
