xHP is designed to flash ZF6HP/ZF8HP and DCT (Dual ClutchDual Clutch Transmission) automatic transmissions in BMW vehicles. It won't connect to or work on other car brands or other automatic transmissions.
The ZF6HP/ZF8HP were BMW's automatic transmissions of choice for almost their the entire range from the early 2000s to the present day, while the DCT was mainly used in M cars.

Mapping a transmission is a tedious task and has to be done on the road, specific to a particular vehiclecar. That's why we can't support "all" BMWs in one goat once.
Read more about how we map transmissions here.
There are several ways to check if your car is supported by xHP:

  • You can easily check support for your car using the xHP Flashtool appapplication. Click on "Check Support" in the left sidebar menu. The app offers 3 options. If you already have the necessary hardware, you can simply connect to your car. This feature is always available without having to create a login in xHP.

Info

This method allows you to check which custom options are supported for your specific car by clicking on the car and then clicking on "Flash Settings".
Any options that are not 'greyed out' are available.

  • If you would like to search offline, please select your vehicle from the drop-down boxes below or simply enter your type code to search our database. The type code is the 4th to 7th digit of your vehicles vehicle's VIN!
If you candon't find see your vehicle car there, it's not supported yet. If your car is supported, the app will show you the details of your car and you can browse through the features of each level for your car!

  • Alternatively, you can use the "Check Support" feature on our home page. We do our best to keep this list as accurate and up-to-date as possible. However, BMW has regularly changed TCUs during the production lifecycle and there may be cases where your vehicle is on the list but not supported. These cases are rare but cannot be 100% avoided.
If you are unsure, please contact us by email at support@rbttuning.com or on Facebook.
