I have "Dynamic Drive" errors after the flash and can't clear them.
(BMW E Series only)

The BMW Dynamic Drive system is quite picky if there has been no CAN bus communication for some time. After each flash, the CAN bus must be switched off for all other devices in the vehicle.
This is because the BMW Dynamic Drive System has to recalibrate and re-align the position of all 4 four wheels when it returns to normal.
During this process, the system is inactive and displays fault messages.
These faults can't be cleared manually, you just . You have to wait for the system to settle down again, which can take some miles/time. (up to 1 hour of driving, depending on road conditions)

This procedure can also be performed using the BMW Shop Tools.

I have flashed an xHP map on my pre-LCI 3, 5 or 6 Series car, but I can't see the gear display in S-Mode.

Most 3, 5 and 6 Series cars (E9x & E6x series, pre-facelift) were fitted with outdated dashboard firmware which is unable to display a gear number that cannot display the current gear used in S-Mode.

Most of these cars display a red "Gearbox Error" sign on the dashboard when S-Mode is engaged. Therefore, the gear display is not active by default in the xHP maps for these cars.

You can try to enable it yourself using the Gear Display feature in the xHP Customisation ModuleFlash Settings.
If this does not work, you will need to update the firmware.

To resolve this issue, your instrument cluster firmware (KOMBI) must be updated via WinKFP with ZB# 9197106.

My G-Series car with the “basic” analogue speedometer does not show the current gear in D-mode.

The "analogue" speedometers on G-series models do not support the Gear Display custom featureFlash Setting.
Only the optional “mid” or “high” instrument clusters can display the current gear.

My gear display shows the next gear just before the gear change.

The gear display shows the 'target gear' of the transmission, so it changes to the new gear at the start of the shift.

For this reason, in slower shift modes, the gear display jumps to the next gear about 0.5 seconds before the driver is aware of the gear change.

In faster shift modes, the shift is much quicker, which is why it is so noticeable.

Is it safe to use BMW Remote Software Upgrade after xHP?

Yes, there are no known issues with xHP and BMW Remote Software Upgrade. After carrying out a Remote-Software-Upgrade remote software upgrade, you may need to reflash xHP afterwards. If Remote Software Upgrade updated your EGS (TCU), xHP may not recognize your car after the update.
