How

...

does xDelete work?

We flash the xDrive ECU (called VGSG or LVM) with an altered dataset, a modified data set to keep the transfer case clutch open all the time.
This means there's no torque being sent to the front, and your front wheels wonaren't be being driven any more.

...

Is this part of xHP?

No, it's xDelete is a separate App application and is not related to xHP.

Can I remove the drive shafts and/or the transfer case ECU from the car?

The transfer case oil pump gets is driven by the front drive-shaftsdriveshafts. Removing these will leave If these are removed, the transfer case mostly is largely unlubricated. Therefore, the front drive shaft driveshaft must not be removed, even in xDrive OFF mode.

xDelete is should only meant to be used with an intact drive traindriveline. xDelete opens the clutches inside in the transfer case , so that no torque (xDrive OFF) , or a custom user-defined amount (xDrive Sport/Snow/Custom) is sent to the front wheels.

The VTG (transfercase transfer case controller) still communicates the with the other modules in your car (even in xDrive OFF mode), so it can’t can't be removed.

Although the clutches are no longer touching each otherin contact, they are still submerged immersed in oil, which gets slowly heated due to heats up slowly as one side moving, moves while the other is at standstillstationary. At best, The best thing to do is run it on the street road after a few minutes of Dyno Workon the dyno.

F-Seriesseries: We do DO NOT recommend doing more than one consecutive run on the Dynodyno. For lubrication purposes, the vehicle should be run on the street road for a mile before doing the next run.
